The Imaginary Door

One day, Otto’s mother asked him to move his bookshelf to his room because he needed more space in his study area. While Otto was moving his bookshelf, he accidently scratched the wall! Suddenly the wall started to rumble, and a door appeared! He quickly moved aside his bookshelf to have a proper look at this door.

Otto was not sure if it was safe to open the door, so he ran to his mom’s supply kit and took a rope to tie to himself and a hook to anchor the rope. Then he harnessed the rope to himself and put the other end of the rope on the clip. He knew he would not stay hooked for a long time because the hook was just stuck on the wall. He was scared he might never come out of the door, so to calm himself down he counted to three before opening the door. He said, “three, two, one” and pushed the magic door open.

The door sucked Otto in. Before Otto realized, he felt himself hurtling in a deep, dark space. He was relieved to see that the drop was only ten feet. When Otto landed, he saw an image of his house as it must have been twenty years ago! In this image, his father Bob was a young boy around Otto’s age. Suddenly the scene shifted, Otto saw his father mapping out a plan for a door. It looked the exact same as the one through which he had entered! Then he saw his father use some magic to make the door. When his father was done making the door he went through the door!

His father fell the exact same way Otto had. Suddenly the rope tied to him came off the hook. Otto fell with a thud on the floor, the images around him were still moving through Otto. Otto was scared, but he still wanted to see what happened to his father! He found that his father was seeing his own memories of the past! Otto then realized that the door only showed his father’s memories.

Suddenly the door pulled him out and his father was looming over him!
